DanceXpress welcomes you to try our Adult Social and Beginners Dance Classes. With a range of Dance Classes catering for beginners and improvers, whether you are single (or, just can't quite convince your partner to come along), or a couple, younger or older, we are sure that we will have dancing with confidence whatever the occassion; whether it's an upcoming holiday, summer ball, winter dance, wedding or just a night out with friends.
You may be 'Absolute Beginners', or learnt to dance several years ago and in need of a refresher. You may believe you have two left feet and feel rhythmically challenged. Our Dance Classes will be ideal for you, with several classes each week at various venues to include; Westerham and Cowden in Kent and Highbrook near Haywards Heath in Sussex. Check out our 'Weekly Itinerary' page for further details of times of classes (or, private lesson availablity) and cost, maps for each of the Studio locations can be found on our 'Links' page.
Learning to dance, whether you are 3, or 103, can provide so many benefits!
- Increasing self-confidence
- Meeting new friends
- Physical fitness/exercise
- Stress relief/relaxation
- Co-ordination
- Teamwork
Above all it is a super social skill to have, no matter what age you are!!!
Maybe, you are just fed up being a couch potato and really not inspired by joining a gym. Thoughts of going nowhere on a running machine doing nothing for you, try 'Jiving' instead of jogging, come and 'Tango' your tension away, learn to 'Foxtrot' like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers and 'Quickstep' your way to meeting fun and fabulous people.
In each of our classes our teachers and experienced helpers aim to provide you with the confidence to recognise the different rhythms and to have the ability to get up and enjoy the dance no matter where you are!! Typically the dances we will teach at Social and Beginners classes in the Latin American rhythms will be the Jive, Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba and Salsa and in the Ballroom rhythms will be the Waltz, Quickstep, Tango and Social Foxtrot. If you would like to know a little more about the character and history of these dances then please feel free to refer to the 'Dance Styles' page of our website. Most of all, don't feel intimidated, as all the celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing have found out in the past five series, 'Dancing is Fun'.
Social Events
Although DanceXpress does have a strong competitive element to the club, which if you would like to, you are always welcome to join, the social side to the club and the sheer enjoyment of dance always plays a prominent part in our activities (even at the competitions!). We regularly organise social events, to give you the chance to practice what you have learned, sometimes in conjunction with other organisations to include; Dinner and Dances (with the National Association of Teachers of Dance and International Dance Teachers Association), Summer and Winter (Snowball) dances, Cabaret/Demonstration evenings such as the Ballroom Dancers Federation's popular 'Night of 100 Stars'. You will find that these are all detailed on our 'Diary Dates' page of the website.
